An ongoing account of our activities during this year

(most recent month first)

We went to Val Caron again this year for Christmas. David was home from Vancouver so we had the whole of our immediate family as well as all our Grandchildren together.

There was no snow for the first time in memory so the boys (with Mia in Goal) played ball hockey on the drive

June and Joe had a new picture taken. My how we have changed since 1964 when the other one was taken

As usual we had all the available family for Thanksgiving dinner. Just 17 this year.

We spent September in Italy and the Eastern Mediterranian

First to Rome

Then on a cruise that took us to Dabrovnik, Olympia, Ephesis, Corfu, Santorini, Malta, and Messina

Then a week in Sorrento so we could take day trips to Pompeii, Capri, and along the Amalfi coast.

Pompeii was very interesting. It is still being excavated from the volcanic ash that covered it several meters deep in 78a.d.

We went camping with Gail and Norm's families at Fairbanks park. Since we sold the van we are back to tenting. Pictures of Mia feeding the chipmonks, and Gail and Clem cooking breakfast for us.

At the end of the month Mia came to stay for a few days so we visited the Lion Safari. Here is Mia riding on an elephant.

We attended the wedding of Joe's neice( see pictures on the Family page).

We visited with brother Bob at their trailer. Here is June with Bob and Marg having an ice cream at Young's Point beside the Trent Canal.

We attended the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Associated Investor's club of which Joe is an original member.

Above is the group, and below, we had dinner on the Steamer Segwun

The annual picnic of the Scottish Country Dance Group

Easter , Mia's birthday and Joe's birthday within a few days of each other. The weather was great so we could sit outside. On the left in June's nephew Ian and his wife Tanya who have just returned from a round the world tour

Some of us went for a walk at Dundas point.

We took a short trip to British Columbia to visit and escape the bad weather We stayed with Dave and Jodie. Here they are on the campus of Simon Fraser University.
We then went to Vancouver Island to see our Nephew Brit with Jen and their new daughter Chloe
Here on Vancouver Island June got close enough to photograph some sea lions basking on the logs at Union Bay

The blossoms were all out in Victoria; a few pictures of Butchart gardens
