Miscellaneous

You may think that Old Time Radio is just American. But it isn't. The BBC (British Broadcasting Company), the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) and various agencies in South Africa and Australia have also produced many major programs.

And you may think it is just detectives and sit-coms and so on. But it isn't. There are a lot of very unique radio programs that don't fit the ordinary genre. There is Nazi Eyes on Canada, a WWII propaganda program from Canada, JRR Tolkien's Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the wacky Goon Show and the Men From the Ministry from the BBC, The Avengers and On Safari from South Africa, The Fat Man from Australia.

Then too, there are the sports programs recorded from 30s and 40s. You can listen to the New York Yankees playing the Detroit Tigers for the 1934 World Series. Or, you can listen to news broadcasts for the major events of World War II. There is all sorts of stuff out there!

Do be sure to check out our BBC and CBC and South Africa Pages too!
